Hollis Fast 5k
George Lecours directs New England’s fastest 5K and the race has been featured in the Wall Street Journal and Running Times magazine. The Hollis Fast Five has a net elevation drop that makes the course screaming fast. George has taken the race from a 140 runner event to over 1500 entrants in 2013. The race served as the 2013 USATF New England Championship. This past year the race featured a dual start for men and women. Both started at the same time from different locations merging at about a quarter mile.
Linda St. Laurent along with her husband Michael comprises the most successful husband and wife race directing team in New England. Through their company Loco Sports they organize some of the largest and best run events in New England. Their events include the popular Rockfest Marathon and Half, One Lucky Guy Half Marathon, Half at the Hamptons, Stowe 8-Miler, Earthday 5K and a host of others.
Dan Ford Road Race
Malcolm Fulford started the Dan Ford Road Race for his friend Dan Ford who was diagnosed with with Urethra cancer – a rare disease with a 100% fatality rate. On April 7th 2009, after a tough fight, Dan lost his battle. The race is held each April from the Fireside Restaurant and Pub in Methuen, MA. The race features both a 5K and 5 miler and is followed with a great block party that features live music.
